One of my “peace” places to go in my mind is the memory of lying on my backpack, as a Boy Scout in Kimberley, waiting for my patrol’s to head out on the Battered Boot Night Hike, gazing at the night sky lit by the magic of the Milky Way. That memory fills my soul with joy.
Although most people live as a body with a mind that gives life flavour, sometimes bitter, sometimes sweet, but not everyone acknowledges what may be called the soul.
The third part of what makes us unique and human, is this mysterious, unseen yet subtly perceived system of energy that seems to connect us to each other and to the animal and plant world, and even the earth and the planets, which quantum science has now discovered. But as science has only observed it, but can’t quantify it and certainly can’t control it in a patent-able profitable positive way, it’s not included in preventative or curative systems of life. Religions give the soul, spirit and even energy various levels of significance, but only within the religious rights and rituals.
So-called New-age systems involve the soul/spirit/energy systems in a big way, but it is difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff and find what will work.
For me, I’ve taken to looking at life as vibrational energy, given different names and labels for different sections of vibrational frequencies and their manifestations. It makes more sense for me that way.
In my model of life and living, the soul is our eternal energy, and like the law of conservation of energy states “Energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it can only be transformed or transferred from one form to another”, our energy is eternal, and is affected by the other living organisms around us and in turn we affect every molecule in our universe as well. Like a ray of sunlight coming into my bedroom window, although it provides life giving energy to the plant in my bedroom, it is also connected to the sun and in that way is connected to every other ray of sunlight in the world. That ray of sunlight, which contains all the energy of the sun, in a diluted form, once it enters the plant, becomes part of the living force of the plant and maintains the plant’s material life and growth. In the same way, my soul is connected to God, has all the wisdom and abilities of God but in very dilute form (if I could tap into that knowledge and ability), and once it enters my body, becomes what Acupuncture calls Chi, which drives all the life forces of the body through a system of meridians and chakras. Because my ray of chi is connected to the one God/sun, which also enlivens all other living organisms on earth, I’m connected to everyone and everything.
So, as a human, I’m a body, contained in an eternal soul, who makes sense and meaning of the world with my mind, but live often oblivious of the greater driving force of my soul and all the wisdom and connection it offers. As with most humans on earth, I live cognitively, using that most prized part of my body, the human brain, to navigate my life and use logic and science to make choices for my body, discounting or not even aware of my conscious self that is my interconnected soul, drowning out any insights, guidances and warnings it may offer.
As I’ve grown, I’ve found that the more I live in harmony with the energies, and prioritise my inner energetic knowing over my body’s cognitive knowledge, the more rewarding and fulfilling and easy is my life. When I live “consciously”, conscious of the energy connections to the universe around me and how, and make choices based on what my senses tell me will contribute positively to my life AND to all other life forms around me, then I HAVE A GOOD DAY.
